Humboldt State will honor one of the school’s most successful head coaches at a basketball game on November 21.

Robin Meiggs, who served as head coach of the HSU rowing program for 27 years before stepping down during the summer, will be recognized for her achievements at halftime of the women’s basketball game against Sonoma State.

Meiggs enjoyed a remarkable career at HSU, and is considered one of the university’s most successful coaches ever.

She helped grow the rowing program from a club sport into a Division-II powerhouse, serving as its first and only head coach.

During her tenure, the team won two national championships and its student athletes excelled academically.

Under Meiggs, the Jacks won national championships in 2012 and 2014, while finishing third in the nation or better five times (2004, 2011, 2012, 2014, and 2015).

She was named Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Coach of the Year three times.

Her program also had a 93 percent graduation rate.

Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
