Mildred “Millie” Dixon was born in Walla Walla, Washington on February 12, 1917 to Elsie (Fox) and George Harper. She passed away peacefully in Eureka on December 11, 2019 at the age of 102.

Mildred and her late husband Verdun lived and worked all over the Western U.S., including Hawaii during their 57-year marriage but decided to make Eureka their forever home in 1976. Even in retirement they went on to own The Candle Shack in the Eureka Mall and Samoa Market. They loved to travel and Mildred continued to do so after Verdun passed away in 1996.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sisters Edna Widmann and Leota Travaille Wallingford and special niece Marlene Sweeney. Mildred is survived by her children Linda Botsford and Roger Dixon (Malynda), grandchildren Diane Botsford Smith and Rick Botsford, Melissa, Sheila and Kevin Andrews, 12 great- and great-great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews and close personal friends who have been so loving and supportive right up to the end. Mildred was interred privately at Ocean View Mausoleum on December 19, 2019, under the direction of Sanders Mortuary.
