. ECD Holdings, Inc Conditional Use Permit Assessor Parcel Number 511-141-015 Record No.

There is a request for a permit to expand a cannabis cultivation project in the McKinleyville area. The expansion would add 33,560 square feet to the existing project. The site will use a well, rainwater catchment, and water recapture for irrigation. The proposal meets the General Plan and Zoning Ordinance. The project has been reviewed for environmental impacts and received positive feedback. The project has also addressed concerns related to noise, water usage, and access. The permit is recommended for approval by the Planning Commission.

… or, as a World War I infantryman's letter home to his sweetheart!

My Dearest Jane,

I hope this letter finds you well. Unfortunately, I am writing to you from the trenches, under heavy fire from German artillery. The situation here is dire, but I wanted to take a moment to write to you and let you know that I am thinking of you, my love.

I miss you more than words can express, and I long for the day when this war is over, and we can be together again. The sounds of battle are all around me, but in my heart, I hold onto the hope that we will be reunited soon.

Please know that you are always in my thoughts, and your love gives me the strength to carry on in the face of such adversity. I pray for our safe return to each other’s arms.

With all my love,

Charles

F. OLD BUSINESS

. Sign Ordinance Assessor Parcel Numbers (APN) 000-000-000 Record No.

The Planning Commission is considering changes to the sign ordinance in Humboldt County to create uniform standards for signs and nameplates. The goal is to protect aesthetic values, environmentally sensitive areas, and ensure compatibility with state requirements. The proposed changes include amendments to various sections of the zoning ordinance for both inland and coastal areas. The Commission is recommended to adopt the proposed ordinance and the modifications are exempt from environmental review under CEQA guidelines. The Commission has requested staff to provide examples of existing signage to guide their decision-making. The comparison with other counties shows that the proposed regulations are consistent with Mendocino, Butte, and Sonoma counties. Various modifications have been made to the ordinance in response to Commission comments and observations, such as including a No Permit Required section for signage changes and revising wall sign limitations. The General Plan does not provide specific guidance for the sign ordinance revisions, but relevant policies and standards are included in the attachments. The project has been reviewed by various agencies and the Commission could choose to have staff review their recommendations and consider revisions at a later hearing.

… or, as a conversation between two very stoned people named Starfish and Noodles!

Starfish: Hey man, have you seen this file about the sign ordinance in Humboldt County?

Noodles: Yo, pass that over here. Let me take a look. (takes a long pause) Whoa, that’s a lot of words, bro.

Starfish: Yeah, but like, they’re talking about changing the regulations for signs and stuff to protect the environment and make things look nice.

Noodles: That’s cool, man. I’m all for protecting the environment. But like, do we really need all these rules for signs?

Starfish: I mean, I guess it makes sense. We don’t want billboards blocking out the beautiful views of the coast, you know?

Noodles: Yeah, I feel you. But like, what’s up with all these numbers and sections? It’s making my head spin.

Starfish: (giggles) I know, right? It’s like they’re speaking a whole different language. But hey, at least they’re trying to make things better for the county.

Noodles: True, true. Maybe we should go to that meeting and share our thoughts. We can be the voices of the stoner community.

Starfish: (laughs) Yeah, man. We’ll be the ambassadors of good vibes and chill vibes. Let’s do it, bro.

Noodles: (excitedly) Yeah, man. Let’s show them that even stoners care about the planet and stuff. We’ll be like, Starfish and Noodles, the eco-warriors of Humboldt County!

Starfish: (laughs) I love it, man. Let’s go save the world, one sign ordinance at a time.
