Yes, labeling GMO’s is appropriate. However, it is a difficult thing to do at the county level. As your supervisor I will advocate for this common sense regulation at the state level if/when the opportunity arises.

What we can do at the county level is protect our small organic farmers—the backbone of our agricultural renaissance—and ban GMO’s in the county. It is an economic imperative that our farmers be safe from cross pollination and contamination by GMO pollen. I have endorsed the current GMO Free Humboldt initiative and look forward to working with everyone in the community to protect our thriving agricultural sector.
