A Sewage Main Near Timber Ridge Ranneth Over This Morning

A new hazardous materials incident involving sewage has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.

According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near a residence in Eureka at around 9:15 a.m. on Monday, April 1.

About 50 gallons of sewage were released to the environment, according to the person who called in the report.

Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:

RP states: A blockage in a main line was the cause of the release. The release is stopped and contained. The release impacted a storm drain leading to a vegetated gulch. Clean up was performed by Humboldt Community Services District.

This was the 1st hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Eureka area this year and the 1st sewage spill in the county overall.
