Petroleum Incident in Blue Lake

A new hazardous materials incident involving petroleum has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.

According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near waterways in Blue Lake at around 10 a.m. yesterday.

Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:

***Potential Spill***

Caller states an RV went off the road and into a creek, RV is not sinking or is partially submerged and the creek is flowing slowly. No Sheen, oder, or indication of a release. Absorbent material was placed in the water and RP will be taking additional response measures

This was the first hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Blue Lake area this year and the 40th petroleum spill in the county overall.
