Sewage Incident in Arcata

A new hazardous materials incident involving sewage has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.

According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near a residence in Arcata at around 6 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22.

Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:

Caller stated that his sewage is impacting his property from underneath his neighbors house. The release is still ingoing and is impacting wildlife. He called the City and when they inspected it they did not do anything. The release has been ongoing for months.

This was the fifth hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Arcata area this year and the fourth sewage spill in the county overall.
