Petroleum Incident in Petrolia

A new hazardous materials incident involving petroleum has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.

According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near waterways in Petrolia at around 11:04 a.m. today.

Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:

PER NRC: "CALLER IS REPORTING A HELO DISCOVERED AN UNKNOWN SHEEN ON THE PACIFIC OCEAN DURING AN OVERFLIGHT."

This was the first hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Petrolia area this year and the 46th petroleum spill in the county overall.
