Sewage Incident in Arcata

A new hazardous materials incident involving sewage has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.

According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near a residence in Arcata at around 1:33 p.m. today.

Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:

Per Caller "There is a sewage back up due to hydraulic flow. It is trickling up into receiving water. It is coming back up through the man hole."

This was the first hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Arcata area this year and the third sewage spill in the county overall.
