Sewage Incident in Rio Dell

A new hazardous materials incident involving sewage has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.

According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near a road in Rio Dell at around 6:30 a.m. today.

Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:

Per reporting party, large amounts of rain caused an ongoing release of an unknown amount of sewage from a manhole. Release is making impacts into the eel river Reporting party stated no containment is being attempted at this time. They will also conduct clean up

This was the third hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Rio Dell area this year and the fifth sewage spill in the county overall.
