2016 Arcata Bay Oyster Festival

Arcata Main St.’s Oyster Festival

Arcata Main Street invites you the 26th Anniversary of the Arcata Oyster Festival on June 18 - fun, food and frolic on the Historic Arcata Plaza! Join over 13,000 people for the largest one-day event in Humboldt County, the Oyster Capitol of California, showcasing our local oysters, aquaculture, cuisine, music, entertainment, beer, wine, art, contests and much more. 10am - 5:30pm. “No fence, no fee,” and a “new” entrance on the northwest corner for easier access. No dogs, outside alcohol, or glass bottles. Share this invite with all of your friends!

FOOD
Chefs will be serving up fresh, BBQ’d oysters with mouthwatering sauces, sublime raw oyster shooters, and so much more! Oyster & prawn baskets, Korean, Fish and Shrimp Tacos, Seared Ahi, Smoked Salmon Salad, Oyster Po’Boys, deep fried oyster pizzas, grilled oyster pizzas, gluten-free pizzas, Kabobs, BBQ’d ribs, chicken and tri-tip, pulled pork sliders, Chow Mein, Egg Rolls & Cheese Puffs, Waffle fries with “crazy” toppings, plus pies, popsicles, fruit, popcorn, cotton candy, and FREE ice cream! Chefs will compete for the Best Raw Oyster, Best Cooked Oyster, and Best Non-Oyster.

Pandemic Steel Band will be on H Street in the Art Market - NORTH of 9th St., by the entrance. Special guests will play in the VIP room in Jacoby’s Storehouse.

BEVERAGES:
Token booths open at 10am, beer taps flow at 11am. Tokens for wine and beer are $5. A limited number of steel cups will be available at the Gift Shop. Be sure to drink responsibly, and recycle your cup!

BEER from 5 local breweries:
Redwood Curtain, Six Rivers, Eel River, Mad River Brewing Co., and Lost Coast Brewery. 3 different beer booths; last call 4PM, closed at 4:30. Hard Humboldt Cider at all beer booths, Wrangletown Cider at both Humboldt Wine Association booths. (east and north).

WINE from all local wineries:
Bergeron Winery, Elk Prairie Vineyard, Fieldbrook Winery, Lost Coast Vineyards, Monument Mountain Vineyards, Moonstone Crossing Winery and tasting Room, Old Growth Cellars, Riverbend Cellars, Rosina Vineyard, Winnett Vineyards, Briceland Vineyards Winery, Whitethorn Winery, and Sun Valley Vineyards. 3 booths: Humboldt Wine Association, Humboldt County Grown Wines: Quality Assured.

Sodas and Juices from several vendors. Hydration Stations (water!) will be at every corner and every beer/wine booth. Bring your water bottle from home, or use your festival cup.

THE FLUPSY (KIds Area)
On 9th Street, between H & I St.
Wax hands and flowers, all kinds of games and activities, T-Shirt coloring, Animal Balloons, shaved ice, cotton candy, popcorn, Peace Pops, Playhouse Giant Pink Polka Dot Pony and puppets, information and fundraisers for families, and much more.

ART MARKET
On H St, between 9th & 10th Street. Over 10 Art and Craft booths, with music by Pandemic Steel Band.

OYSTER FEST GIFT SHOP & MERCH on G St.
Klean Kanteen Steel glasses, steel steins, T-Shirts, hoodies, hats, aprons, band Merch and more.

FARMER’S MARKET – On 8th Street and I Street, until 2pm.

TRANSPORTATION:
FREE Shucker Shuttle from HSU (14th & Union) and Arcata High (16th & M St). Follow the arrows. Do not drive to the Plaza!
Ride your bike and avoid all the parking hassle!
If you live in Arcata you can catch an Arcata/Mad River bus. Or ride to Arcata on the comfy Redwood Transit System from Trinidad, Willow Creek, Eureka … even Garberville.
Private parking lots near the Plaza, like the Safeway/CVS lot will NOT be available to festival goers, and they are planning to tow cars this year, at the owner’s expense.
