29th Annual Apple Harvest Festival

Fortuna

The 29th Annual Apple Harvest Festival is fast approaching and so is the deadline for obtaining a booth at one of the many locations throughout town during the event.

The event hosts hay rides, a health fair, live music, good food and lots of fun for all ages. The fun begins on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There will also be the 2nd annual Harvest Market on Sunday, Oct. 6 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Market will include hay rides between downtown and Clendenen’s as well as round trip Speeder Car Rides leaving from Clendenen’s to Main Street and returning to Clendenen’s.

The Apple Harvest will provide six venues of entertainment and will include Clendenen’s Cider Works & Apple Orchard, Rohner Park, Downtown Fortuna, Volunteer Fire Department, Strong’s Creek Plaza and Ray’s Food Place. This will be the first year that there will not be activities at the Redwood Village Shopping Mall.

If you would like to get a booth set up on Main Street Fortuna you can contact Marilyn Strehl at Strehl’s Family Shoes at 725-2610.

We are really looking forward to all of the vendor booths and the business sidewalk sales,” Strehl said. “It is going to be a great event and if you can’t get your registration in by the Sept. 29 deadline don’t give up. We can still take applications on the day of the event so long as we have room.”

Booth registration by Sept. 29 will cost $30 for vendors and $50 for food booths. After Sept. 29, those fees raise to $40 and $60 for Saturday’s events.

For Oct. 6 events, fees paying by Sept. 29 are $20 for a vendor, $20 for a farmer, and $40 for a food booth. Again those fees will go up $5 if you do not make the registration date.

Clendenen’s has already filled their booths, but you can contact Christina at Fortuna Parks and Rec to inquire about availability at the Park by calling 725-7620.

Strong’s Creek Plaza will also have sidewalk sales and vendors. For more information about availability contact KiDiLiCiouS at 725-3200.
