Eureka South Entry Project Meeting

Wharfinger Building

A community meeting will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at the Wharfinger Building to discuss the elements of the city of Eureka’s South Entry Project Study.

The intent is to improve traffic safety on U.S. Highway 101 from the Herrick Avenue overpass north to the stoplight at Pierson’s Building Supply.

As well as traffic safety, organizers hope to improve the aesthetics of the city’s south entrance and to give visitors a sense of the area’s character, according to the project’s website, www.eurekasouthentry.com.

“The project team will present the vision, discuss existing conditions, define constraints, develop concept ideas and welcome input,” according to the city.

A second session will be held in April. Details will be announced at a later date.
