HSU Jazz Orchestra and Symphonic Band

HSU Jazz Orchestra directed by Dan Aldag pays tribute to legendary composer and pianist Horace Silver, who passed away this June. Selections include hard bop, Latin rhythms and ballads in big band arrangements. The Symphonic Band directed by Paul Cummings plays shorter works by 20th century composers George Gershwin, Vaughn Williams and Alberto Ginastera, and Holst’s Second Suite for Military Band.
