Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain Schedule

Lady Washington arrives in Eureka April 10 for an 11-day visit featuring public sailing excursions, walk-on tours, and educational programs for K-12 students. Her companion ship, Hawaiian Chieftain, will follow Lady Washington, arriving on April 15 after a five-day stop in Fort Bragg. Here’s the ships’ public schedule in Eureka:

4/11: 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., walk-on tours, $3 donation.
4/12-13: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., walk-on tours, $3 donation.
4/12-13: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Adventure Sail, $43 all ages.
4/15-18: 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., walk-on tours, $3 donation.
4/16: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Adventure Sail, $33 all ages.
4/19-20: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., walk-on tours, $3 donation.
4/19-20: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Battle Sails, $43-$63.
4/19: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Evening Sail, $43 all ages.
4/20: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Adventure Sail, $43 all ages.

Adventure Sails are two-hour family-oriented experiences with opportunities for guests to help raise a sail, learn a sea shanty, or take the helm of a real tall ship, conditions permitting. The Adventure Sail on April 16 is value-priced at $33 per person. All other Adventure Sails, as well as the April 19 Evening Sail, are priced at $43 per person. The Battle Sail is an exciting three-hour experience that recreates the look and feel of an 18th century naval skirmish between two tall ships. The vessels conduct close-quarters maneuvers and fire real cannon loaded with real gunpowder, but no cannon balls. Tickets are $63 adults, $53 students, seniors, and active military, and $43 children 12 and under. Purchase tickets online or call 800-200-5239.

The ships are also booking K-12 classrooms and home-school groups for one-hour and three-hour educational programs. Schools designated Title I by the U.S. Department of Education may be eligible for significant discounts on pricing.
