Nepal Earthquake Benefit

Dinner ($15) includes dal (lentil soup), chicken korma (with onions yogurt, almonds, spices) or vegetarian taarka dal (garbanzo bean stew), alo gobi (cauliflower/potatoes), raita (cucumbers/yogurt) and basmati rice. Available a la carte: naan (Indian flatbread fresh out of a wood-fired oven), momos (steamed veggie dumplings with dipping sauce), coconut milk/ rice pudding (with rose water, cardamon, and pistachios), other desserts, beer, wine, chai, and coffee. Silent and live auctions! Jazz guitar by Blue Lotus (Dave and Nalini Wilson) during dinner, followed by dancing to Blaze and Blue. Proceeds will help build temporary shelters for the monsoon season, and with rebuilding earthquake-engineered new houses in Patlekhet, a small town in Kavre district near Kathmandu. Jim Danish and Oma (former Mattole Valley neighbors) will distribute funds there through their non-profit Everything Organic Nursery, in conjunction with the local Rotary organization.
