NPA Climate Change Project Launch

Arcata Creamery District

“Climate change is happening, humans are causing it, and I think this is perhaps the most serious environmental issue facing us.” -Bill Nye

Join us in the Arcata Creamery district on Friday, February 13, 2015, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. for an evening of art and education focused on climate change and how it will impact our local community Northcoast Preparatory and Performing Arts Academy students are starting an ongoing project to raise local, and eventually global, awareness about the impact that our rising sea levels will have on our local environment. The students will use different forms of performance including poetry, dance, music, theater, and art, in addition to various educational materials, to present this critical information. Please join us for an evening on the streets that, in fifty years, will be immersed in ocean water unless we take action. “I am incredibly excited to start interacting with my community and working towards a more environmentally secure future,” says Georgia King, an active member of the NPA climate change project. King has already participated in multiple NPA community projects and looks forwards to engaging with the community about climate change.
