Sea Level Rise at Freshwater Farms

See Event Description

Join Aldaron Laird and Northcoast Regional Land Trust staff on March 1, 11:00 am, at Freshwater Farms Reserve (5851 Myrtle Ave, Eureka) to explore the historical implications of tideland reclamation and the future of the Eureka Slough landscape with sea-level rise. Aldaron is the adaptation planner for the Humboldt Bay Sea-Level Rise Adaptation Planning project. He recently completed a shoreline inventory, mapping, and sea-level rise vulnerability assessment project. Potential inundation maps of the Eureka Slough landscape will be presented and a discussion on what is at risk and what adaptation options may be feasible followed by a walk along Freshwater Slough to observe a high tide of over 8 feet. Call Debbie Marshall, 822-2242 for more information. CANCELED IF RAINING.
