Humboldt Handweavers and Spinners Guild Meeting

Wharfinger Building

Weaver Marta Shannon will present a program titled “One Thread at a Time… Tactile Sensations” at the Humboldt Handweavers and Spinners Guild meeting, March 13, 6:45 p.m. at the Wharfinger Building in Eureka. This program is open to the public. Marta will share with you the twists and turns of her weaving path. Marta started weaving in the late 70’s, beginning with basic loom shaped clothing. Over the years her work morphed into more elegant one of a kind pieces, using brocade and inlay. Finally she discovered collapse weaving using differential shrinkage, which features prominently in her recent work. Marta lives and teaches in Petaluma and at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts.
