Well, the godless big-government liberals are sure consolidating their power now, aren’t they?!??

The latest pace in our brisk march toward fascism came a few minutes ago, when Gov. Jerry Brown appointed a former mayor of that blight on the bay — yes, a former Arcata mayor! — to the board governing our beloved Redwood Acres Fair.

Brown today appointed five fine upstanding citizens and one Manchurian Candidate to the fair board today. The latter goes by the name of “Connie Stewart,” and she is a nearly lifelong government functionary who currently works as the executive director of a “think tank” housed at Humboldt State University. Previous to that, she served on the Arcata City Council and as an alternate delegate to the California Coastal Commission.

Stewart’s appointment is perfectly in line with recent trends at the old fairgrounds. Four years ago, a gospel choir welcomed no less a traitor than President Bill Clinton to the Home Arts Building. Since then, the annual Redwood Acres Fair has swarmed with thousands and thousands of undesirables, infected as it has been by the government-run “Humboldt Made” propaganda brainwash campaign.

SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments.

Meredith Biasca, 54, of Loleta, has been appointed to the 9th District Agricultural Association, Redwood Acres Fair Board. Biasca has been manager at Don’s Rent-All since 2005. She was manager at the Party Place from 1990 to 2005. Biasca held multiple positions at Daly’s Department Store from 1974 to 1990, including assistant manager, accountant, and marking room clerk. She is a member of the National Pygmy Goat Association, Sierra Pacific Pygmy Goat Association, American Paint Horse Association and Humboldt Bay Horse Club. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Biasca is a Republican.

Robert Borck, 42, of Eureka, has been appointed to the 9th District Agricultural Association, Redwood Acres Fair Board, where he has served since 2008. Borck has been owner of Eclipse Enterprise since 2010. He was a field representative at the Northern California Carpenters Regional Council from 2000 to 2010 and a carpenter at Sequoia Construction from 1993 to 2000. Borck is a member of the Carpenters Union, Humboldt Fisherman’s Marketing Association and the Alliance for Sustainable Jobs and the Environment. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Borck is a Democrat.

Terry Coltra, 60, of Eureka, has been appointed to the 9th District Agricultural Association, Redwood Acres Fair Board, where he has served since 2001. Coltra has held multiple positions at the Northern California Indian Development Council Inc. since 1984, including executive director and operations director. He was tribal administrative officer at the Hoopa Tribe and executive director at the Hoopa Manpower Program from 1981 to 1984 and was an independent monitoring unit chief for the County of Humboldt from 1978 to 1981. He serves as secretary of California Resources and Training and as youth council chairman for the Humboldt County Workforce Investment Board. Coltra is a member of the California Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Eureka Chamber of Commerce. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Coltra is a Democrat.

Scott Downie, 70, of Fortuna, has been appointed to the 9th District Agricultural Association, Redwood Acres Fair Board, where he has served since 2001. Downie has been senior environmental scientist and supervisor at the California Department of Fish and Game since 1991. He was owner and captain of the FV Henrietta, a commercial fishing business, from 1977 to 1991. Downie is a member of the American Fisheries Society, Buckeye Conservancy and Fortuna Sunrise Rotary Club. He earned a Master of Arts degree in humanities from California State University, Humboldt. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Downie is a Democrat.

Lisa Perry, 54, of McKinleyville, has been appointed to the 9th District Agricultural Association, Redwood Acres Fair Board. Perry has been a student services professional at California State University, Humboldt since 2007. She was education commissioner at the California Forest Products Commission from 2002 to 2007 and held multiple positions at Precision Printers from 1984 to 1997, including secretary and office administrator of inside sales. Perry was assistant manager of credit card services at Willamette Savings and Loan Association from 1983 to 1984 and was collections supervisor at Oregon Bank from 1978 to 1984. She is a board member of the North Coast chapter of California Women In Timber, Redwood Region Logging Conference and California Women for Agriculture and is a member of Forest Owners of California. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Perry is a Republican.

Connie Stewart, 46, of Arcata, has been appointed to the 9th District Agricultural Association, Redwood Acres Fair Board. Stewart has been executive director at the California Center for Rural Policy at California State University, Humboldt since 2009. She was senior field representative for Assemblywoman Patty Berg from 2002 to 2009. Stewart served as councilmember for the City of Arcata from 1996 to 2004 and mayor from 1999 to 2001. She serves as an alternate on the California Coastal Commission and is a member of the Hospice of Humboldt, Humboldt Workforce Investment Board and Open Door Community Health Centers. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Stewart is a Democrat.
