From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
On 12-17-2013 at about 9:30 a.m. the Humboldt County Drug Task Force with assistance from the Sheriff’s Drug Enforcement Unit, served a search warrant on a single story structure at the 1700 block of Catherine Court in McKinleyville. Agents and Deputies initially located an elaborate 20 light grow operation in the garage area and about 35 growing marijuana plants. Further investigation revealed that these plants were grown for the sole purpose of cloning small starter plants and that starter plant process took over a separate room of the residence. The starter/clone room contained over 572, 4 inch tall starter plants in individually trayed containers. Agents and Deputies later discovered over 35 individual 1 lb plastic bags of processed marijuana hidden in a back bedroom. Also located during the search were several firearms, including a loaded Russian made SKS rifle, a Beretta handgun and a .22 caliber rifle.
At the time of the warrant service, a male subject answered the front door. The male, Jean Francois Milette age 41 was immediately detained and later arrested on charges of cultivation of marijuana and possession for sales. Milette was transported and booked into Humboldt County Correctional facility and his bail was set at $75,000.00.
