From the Humboldt County Drug Task Force:

On 02-08-2013 at about 8:30 am the Humboldt County Drug Task Force assisted by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at a residence located in the 2100 block of Briarwood Circle, Eureka. When officers served the search warrant they located a commercial indoor marijuana growing operation in the garage. Officers detained three subjects located inside of the residence.

Officers seized 240 growing marijuana plants from the garage that ranged in size from 4 inches to 3 feet in height. Officers seized approximately 21 pounds of dried marijuana from the residence and located evidence of a butane hash lab in the residence.

Officers noticed a possible fire hazard associated with the indoor marijuana growing operation. Officers contacted the Humboldt County Building and Planning Department who responded to the scene. The Humboldt Building and Planning Department inspected the electrical wiring and determined there was a possible electrical fire hazard associated with the indoor marijuana growing operation. Humboldt County Building and Planning Department contacted PG&E, who later disconnected the electrical service to the residence.

Officers arrested Sarah F. Ward age 26 for cultivation and possession for sales of marijuana and for manufacturing of a controlled substance (butane hash lab). Officers arrested a second suspect named Katlyn D. Flemming age 18 for possession of over an ounce of marijuana. The third subject who was detained was not arrested.

Both Ward and Flemming were transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility. Ward’s bail was set at $500,000 dollars. Flemming was booked and released and given a date to appear in court.

This case is still under investigation by the Humboldt County Drug Task Force.
