UPDATE 6/12: Press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office -AG:
Humboldt County Sheriff’s Detectives are continuing with their investigation.
On 06-11-2013 they completed their search of the property which is a large parcel with numerous structures and trailers on it. Evidence was recovered at the scene indicating firearms were used in the crime. No other victims were located. Several witnesses were located in the area where the crime occurred and have been interviewed. At least two suspects possibly more were involved in the crime. The suspects wore dark clothing and facial covering. Motive is still being determined. The female victim is still in critical, stable condition at an out of area hospital. She is believed to be the victim of a gun shot, however that has not been confirmed by medical professionals. The male victim has been treated and released.

UPDATE 9:57 a.m.: Press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office -AG:
On 06-11-2013, approximately 1:00 a.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a citizen in the 37000 block of Highway 36, Dinsmore. The citizen told the dispatcher that his neighbors had been severely beaten and needed medical help and law enforcement immediately. Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputies and Emergency Medical Services Personnel responded to the scene. Deputies located two victims, a 55 year old male and 27 year old female. The male had been severely beaten and the female appears to have been shot. The male and female were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The female is currently in critical, but stable condition and is being airlifted to a hospital out of the area. The male is in stable condition and is currently in a local hospital. Deputies have secured the residence and property. A Humboldt County Superior Court Search Warrant has been obtained and deputies and detectives are searching the property, attempting to locate and interview witnesses, and determine a motive for this crime.
At this point in the investigation it is believed at least two suspects are involved and are still at large. There are no suspect descriptions at this time. Further information will be released in the future as more information becomes available.

ORIGINAL POST: Details are still emerging on a shooting that took place at near Hwy 36 and Burr Valley Road.
Scanner traffic at 1:10 this morning shows that emergency response crews were sent to the aid of two assault victims. According to reports the Lost Coast Outpost received, there was a female gunshot victim and a male victim beaten with a gun. Information is slim but we will be following up as more details are available.
