UPDATE 3/20 2:21 P.M.: The United States Forest Service (USFS) spokesman has referred LoCO to the Dept. of Justice (DOJ) in regards to a person arrested yesterday. SCOTT ANDREW MOORE was arrested yesterday at 8 A.M. by the USFS and booked into the Humboldt Co. jail for possession of marijuana for sale. LoCO requested more information from the USFS and was directed to the DOJ.  This means that most likely Moore was involved in the Humboldt Co. raids taking place yesterday. DOJ has not responded to a request for comment yet.

UPDATE 3/20: LoCO is waiting on information promised by the Dept. of Justice in yesterday’s story about the marijuana related raids in Fortuna, Rio Dell, and east of Bridgeville. Photos have been promised.

DOJ has released that 44 guns were found during the raids. And LoCO’s Booked shows one person arrested. ERIK THOMAS SORDAL

UPDATE 2:18 P.M.: Michelle Gregory, Public Information Officer for the Dept. of Justice, has confirmed that the Northern State Marijuana Investigation team is conducting 12 related raids in Northern California. Warrants are being served in Rio Dell, Fortuna, and east of Bridgeville as well as Sonoma and San Francisco and other areas.  She characterized the raids as all related to a “large scale marijuana investigation.”

At this point, she is unable to give information on the people arrested or the amount seized. But did say the investigation had spanned quite a period of time.  She confirmed that the team was working with multiple other agencies but couldn’t confirm which at this time.
