On Saturday, August 24th, according to Jordan Traverso, public information officer for the California Dept. of Fish and Wildlife, two game wardens were conducting a deer patrol in Six Rivers National Forest. They made contact with two men, Christopher Miles Goldthwaite and Zachary Thomas Hartsell.

The vehicle not only smelled of marijuana but the license plates, said Traverso, “revealed they were stolen.” The men were handcuffed and the vehicle was searched. According to Traverso, 9.4 pounds of marijuana along with 4 ounces of Kief (concentrated cannabis), 96 bottle rockets, and 33 “whip-its” were located.

Goldthwaite was arrested for possessing dangerous fireworks.

Hartsell was arrested for for possession of marijuana for sale.
