Here’s the latest post in LoCO‘s “Be On the Lookout” series, where we highlight stolen items and ask you to help by reporting any sighting to the appropriate law enforcement agency.

Two nice bikes were taken from the vicinity of the Bayshore Mall in the last few days.

The first was taken on November 22 from the Mall. This Trek three series is practically brand new having been purchased only two days before it was stolen. Understandably, the owner is upset. Can you help?

The second, according to Eureka Police Captain Steve Watson, taken from the back of the victim’s pickup truck during a five minute shopping stop at an auto parts store’s parking lot at Highland/Broadway Streets. This custom $3700 “Giant STP” Dirt Jumper Style Mountain bike was taken on November 23 about 6 p.m.

The victim, Watson said, described his bike as one of a kind and built from custom parts: Shimano XT wheels, Shwalbe tires, Cannondale peddles, Truvativa Stems (handle bars).

The bicycle has been slightly repainted since this photo. The white parts on the bike were changed to black.

Anyone with info on these two bicycles’ whereabouts should contact the Eureka Police Department at 441-4044. &
