A resident of the McKinleyville area reported “a large law enforcement presence” stopping traffic on Murray Road around 5 p.m.

A spokesperson for the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that deputies from his office had been in that area attempting to serve a warrant on a Robert Ganfield in the 1600 block of Norton Road. Deputies were unable to apprehend Ganfield who fled. Deputies were assisted by State Parks in attempting to catch Ganfield. However, Ganfield managed to evade capture.

While in the area, deputies arrested another subject, Tyler Goodwin, on outstanding warrants.
