UPDATE, 11:28 a.m.: The Humboldt Bay Fire truck that responded to the jail is now en route to St. Joseph Hospital, according to scanner traffic.

At about 11 a.m., City Ambulance and Humboldt Bay Fire were called to the Humboldt County Jail to provide medical aid to a hanging victim.
Little more is known about the incident at this time — we will be posting more information as it becomes available — but if this is a case of a prisoner at the jail attempting suicide by hanging, it would be the second such case this month.
