Original Post: Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office press release:
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office has been investigating the recent rise in burglaries in the Willow Creek area of Humboldt County. On June 22, 2015 at approximately 3:35 p.m. a Sergeant with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office contacted a possible suspect associated with the recent burglaries, who was identified as 24 year old Nicholas Cain Anderson walking on Highway 299 near Willow Creek.
When the Sergeant detained Anderson he located property on Anderson’s person that had recently been stolen from the Bigfoot Supply in Willow Creek during a burglary. The value of the stolen items that Anderson possessed was approximately $1,650 dollars. Anderson was placed under arrest for possession of stolen property. When Anderson was arrested a small amount of heroin was located on his person. Anderson was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance. Anderson’s bail was set at $25,000 dollars. Anderson was able to post bail and was given an appearance date to be arranged in Humboldt County Superior Court.
On 07-12-2015 at about 10:40 p.m. a Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Deputy responded to the office of the COHO Cottages located on Willow Road, Willow Creek for a burglary report. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash from inside of the office. The Sheriff’s Deputy dusted the office area for any possible latent fingerprints associated with the suspect. Several latent fingerprints were located for a possible suspect. Those latent fingerprints lifted were compared to Nicholas Anderson’s known fingerprints and they were positivity identified as Anderson’s fingerprints.
The Sheriff’s Office has issued a Be on the Lookout (BOL) to other local Law Enforcement agencies to arrest Anderson for the burglary of the COHO Cottages in Willow Creek. The Sheriff’s Office is requesting if anyone knows of his location to please call the Sheriff’s Office. Anderson is described as a white, male adult, 5’-10” in height, 200 pounds, brown hair with brown eyes. Anderson may be associated with an older, blue, Volvo sedan.
In the last 60 days there have been approximately 23 burglaries in the greater Willow Creek area. Anderson is believed to be responsible for several of those burglaries.
