The following is a post from the Fortuna Police Department’s Facebook page:

In the early afternoon of 02-15-2019, Officers were alerted to a possible package pirating in the 1200 block of Cecil Street in Fortuna. The very vigilant UPS driver advised he had dropped a package off and now saw it in the front seat of a UHaul that was circling the area. Officer responded to the area however were unable to locate the vehicle.

At approximately 3:50 PM, an officer observed a Uhaul in the area of Kenmar Road and Eel River Drive with a matching license plate traveling in the area. While following the UHaul the officer observed it to be driven by Sandra Belisle (age 48 of Fortuna). The officer knew Belisle to be on Parole for Burglary. The UHaul pulled into the parking lot of Walgreens where the officer detained Belisle for the purpose of a Parole Search. During the search, the officer located the stolen box and items which had already been removed. Belisle was booked into the Humboldt County Jail for Possession of Stolen property and a Parole Hold.

Belisle.

The package was returned to the owner and video from his home surveillance system was retrieved showing Belisle taking the package. This is not the kind of seasonal help UPS is looking for! The Fortuna Police Department would like to thank UPS and the Homeowner for being proactive in returning the stolen loot.

As a side note, you may recognize Belisle from previous posts. Belisle has been arrested numerous times with stolen mail including a 2013 arrested where she was found to be in possession of mail belonging to more then 100 victims.

And in November of 2018 when she was arrested for possession of stolen property and parole violation after she was found in possession of mail belonging to several victims.

And in October of 2018 when she was arrested for possession of stolen property and probation violation after she was found in possession of stolen checks.
