McPherson College Athletics – Former Fortuna Husky Jenna Christensen is enjoying a big sophomore season playing softball at McPherson College in Kansas.

Another former Fortuna Husky is enjoying an impressive season in college softball, and has been named her conference player of the week.

Jenna Christensen, a 2017 Fortuna graduate, is in her second season playing softball at McPherson College in Kansas, and has been in impressive form through the early going.

Christensen, a starting catcher for the Bulldogs, is batting .370 and leads her team in RBIs, home runs and doubles.

On Tuesday, she was named Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week.

The former Husky was 7-for-13 in four games this past weekend, with five of her hits going for extra bases, including a pair of home runs and three doubles.

Christensen also drove in eight runs, as the Bulldogs went 3-1.

For the season, she now has 16 RBIs, four home runs and five doubles.

The NAIA team is 11-10 on the season.

Christensen’s four home runs in 18 games is one more than her total as a freshman.

Christensen wasted little time adapting to the collegiate game, hitting .333 in her debut season with 11 doubles and 40 RBIs.

Her former Fortuna teammate, Hailey Dolcini, is also enjoying a stellar season pitching at Fresno State.
