Clifford Ray Andersen

Clifford, “Cliff,” “Cliffy,” Andersen was born to Betty Rhodes and Clifford Walker in Willits on Sept. 7. 1957. Shortly after his birth his parents divorced and he moved with his mother and extended family to Eureka. He called Eureka his home for the rest of his life. At a young age Clifford’s mother met and married Ed Andersen who adopted Clifford and gave him his last name.

Clifford enlisted in the Coast Guard at the age of 17, serving four years before being discharged. Clifford then attended College of the Redwoods to receive his welding certificate. His career was spent welding products for the logging industry. He was even given the opportunity to fabricate part of the launching structure for the spaceship Titan.

Clifford loved cars, fishing, camping, riding his Harley and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Clifford is preceded in death by his adopted father Ed Andersen, father Clifford Walker, grandson Ferin Barber and mother Betty Andersen.

Clifford is survived by daughters: Athena Barber (Charles Bowen), Tanya Parker, Ashley Andersen and Karrie Beshere. Grandchildren: Sarah Allemen, Hunter Barber, Laura Barber, Dylan Barber, Drake Barber, Rowan Barber, Lena Cross, Charlee Bowen and Kalani Olguin. Great grandchild Messiah Barber-Sanders and another on the way. Brothers: Ed Andersen and Dan Walker and sisters: Debby Wiseman, JoAnn Kotterman and Kim Walker. Many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Clifford will be greatly missed by many lifelong friends including Bob McCullough, the Deavers and the Engbergs.

Family would like to thank Hospice of Humboldt and the support of Kristie, Steve, Carrie etc. for their support and dedication to making Clifford’s last days as comfortable and active as possible.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on:

Friday Nov. 22, 2019 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Pine Hill Baptist Church 4675 Union St. Eureka. Services are open to all who would like to share fond memories of Clifford and enjoy a potluck (please no alcohol).
