(VIDEO) Hay, Truck Fire Burning on Highway 36 Near Hydesville

A load of hay has caught fire along Highway 36 near Hydesville this afternoon, according to information received by the California Highway Patrol.

The fire was first reported around 4:05 p.m. near Riverbar Road and is possibly still burning, although not much information is available at this time.

Footage of the fire sent to the Outpost by a reader shows large, scattered piles of burning hay and a pickup truck completely engulfed in flames along the highway.

The video also shows workers dramatically trying to suffocate the blaze with shovels as it spread to nearby vegetation.

Calfire has been alerted to the incident but its unclear what agencies are responding at this time.
