Austin, Texas’ Jon Dee Graham has a long and critically acclaimed history with Austin music. Named Austin Musician of the Year at the 2006 Austin Music Awards, Graham is a three-time inductee into the Austin Music Awards Hall of Fame for his work as a solo artist as well as his work with proto punk group The Skunks and The True Believers (with Alejandro Escoveo). He also was the subject of a 2008 documentary titled Swept Away. His admirers include Kelly Wllis, John Doe, Patty Smyth with whom he has collaborated. He has finished his latest recording of original songs called Do Not Forget. As a songwriter Graham draws on personal experience or uses imagination knitting vivid imagery into starkly real tales, Graham affirming just what a master he is at turning a melody, a beat and some words into songs filled with so much emotional intensity, they almost burn.
Mike June is from New Jersey, now in Austin, whose music has been described “heartland rock with a political bent.” He and Jon Dee are good buddies and Mike will do an opening set and then play with Jon Dee.
