Teach Me Equals, Stand Still
Celebrate Halloween in downtown Arcata with two incredible bands!
A duo consisting of Greg Bortnichak and Erin Murphy, Teach Me Equals sound is created with cello, guitar, violin, vocals and numerous samples and electronic percussion. They have been described as “symphonic indie pop.” The band creates music that is both challenging, while simultaneously accessible enough to appeal to the casual listener.
The duo has amassed a solid local following with numerous passionate performances in our area over the last several years. The band’s execution in a live setting leaves the audience awestruck with their intensity of delivery as well as their enormous sound projected by the two artists. Their current West Coast tour is in support of a cassette compilation and fanzine from the recently resurrected, influential record label Punk In My Vitamins.
Teach Me Equals destabilizes the modern concepts of pop music while both questioning and pointing toward its future.
Local favorites Stand Still (formerly Float Forward) will be bringing their unique brand of “indie dream pop” to the evening.
Get dressed up, indulge in some drinks, and bring your friends. This is not a show to be missed!
