From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:

On 03-13-2012, approximately 8:00 a.m. the Humboldt County Sheriffs Office Community Response Unit served a Humboldt County Superior Court Search Warrant on a Storage Facility at 100 Airport Road, Fortuna. The search warrant authorized the deputies to search several separate storage units for marijuana being cultivated. Deputies located and seized approximately 1500 marijuana plants being grown indoors in various stages of growth.

Deputies also located several storage units with growing marijuana and medical 215 cards in the units. After consulting with the Humboldt County District Attorneys Office those marijuana grows were not seized, and the investigation into the legality of those grows is continuing.

Arrest warrants for cultivation and possession for sale of marijuana are being sought for the owners of the illegal marijuana grows. The Humboldt County Planning Department was called to the scene to determine whether the structural and electrical was in compliance with law and safety concerns were addressed.
