From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
On 2-8-2013, approximately 8:30 p.m. a Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputy witnessed a man kicking the window of an unoccupied marked Sheriff’s Patrol car three or four times causing damage to the car. The patrol car was parked in front of the Sheriff’s Office on 4th Street, Eureka.
When the suspect saw the deputy who confronted the suspect, later identified of as Vincent Sanchez 27 years old from Eureka, he ran off. The deputy pursued Sanchez on foot and was joined by two other deputies who caught him near I st and 8th Street, Eureka. Eureka Police Department arrived to assist in the investigation and the arrest of Sanchez. Sanchez was arrested for vandalism and resisting arrest. Eureka Police learned six other vehicles in the area had been damaged by Sanchez. (E.P.D. Case # 3C13-1183 ).
Sanchez was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where his bail was set at $25,000.00.
