Here’s the latest post in LoCO‘s “Be On the Lookout” series, where we highlight stolen items and ask you to help by reporting any sighting to the appropriate law enforcement agency.

A Eureka mom is looking for what she calls a “Christmahanakwanza miracle.”

On Christmas Eve, her Mountain Buggy ”Plus One” double all terrain stroller—black, 3 wheels, full suspension and stadum seating—was stolen from her porch near the Sequoia Zoo in Eureka. She wrote the LoCO saying,

…the stroller was amazing. I grew up out by the Trinity County line… I need to be able to get out and walk in the world and to not be limited to paved roads, or I will lose my mind. That’s hard to do with two itty-bitties unless you have the right equipment.  Besides, I wanted both my girls to be able to get out and see the world with me, and not just be limited to the distance my 18 month old daughter can toddle while I carry my 3 month old.  That meant that even though we’re just living paycheck to paycheck like everybody else, we scrimpted and saved and bought an all terrain double stroller.

Now, all terrain strollers are expensive, and double strollers are, too, and ones that do both? Exorbitant. Like almost $800 exorbitant. We ate a lot of rice, beans, lentils, et cetera, to swing buying it because I put a premium on freedom of movement. It’s going to be a good long time until we can afford to replace it.

Anyone see this? If so, please contact the Eureka Police Department at 441-4044.
