From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:

On Thursday, May 18, 2017 at about 0717 hours, The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office along with the California Highway Patrol and the Hoopa Valley Tribal Police responded to a business on Highway 96, in Hoopa for a report of an armed robbery. Once on scene, Deputies learned that a good Samaritan intervened during the course of the robbery, taking the suspect to the ground and disarming him. The suspect was reported to have fled the scene on a bicycle towards Orcutt’s Trailer park. Law enforcement conducted a foot patrol of the area and was unable to locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as an unknown race male, 5’-10” to 6’0”, thin-build, wearing blue jeans, dark blue or black hooded jacket, with a mask over his face. The firearm used was a realistic looking BB gun.

This case is still under investigation.
