Campaign Kick Off Event December 20, 5PM

Fortuna-Jeana McClendon has announced the kickoff of her campaign for the Board of Supervisors District 2 race on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at 5 pm. The event will take place on the front steps of the Fortuna Veteran’s Building located at 1426 Main Street in Fortuna.

McClendon stated, “Now more than ever, a fresh voice and new perspective are needed. The time is now, not four years from now. Things are getting worse, not better.”

“I believe in responsible government and addressing problems head-on. My leadership style is devoid of negativity and false promises. I believe in offering a hand up, not a handout, and operating within the principles of fair leadership and democracy.”

McClendon, a well-known local business owner, currently resides in Hydesville. Having spent 26 of her 44 years living in Carlotta, she feels well connected to the district and understands the challenges and benefits of living in a rural area. She strongly advocates for the power of community and the need for effective leadership to guide our county toward a better future.

She has a rich history of civic service in her community, currently serving on the Fortuna Union High School Board of Trustees and being an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Fortuna Rotary.
