EUREKA, Calif.— Humboldt County Supervisorial candidate Natalie Arroyo has been endorsed by Operating Engineers Local 3 and the Building and Construction Trades Council of Humboldt and Del Norte Counties. As a County Supervisor, Arroyo has pledged to work hard to ensure that workers receive fair wages and the support they deserve.

Operating Engineers Local 3 is the largest construction trades local in the U.S., and includes heavy equipment operators and mechanics, surveyors, construction inspectors, highway maintenance workers, police officers and other public employees. The Building and Construction Trades Council of Humboldt and Del Norte Counties is part of the California affiliate of North America’s Building Trades Union (NABTU), and includes affiliates in a wide variety of construction crafts and trades. Collectively, these groups are working to ensure that there are good-paying, safe and reliable Building Trades jobs in Humboldt County.

Local 3 District Rep. Jeff Hunerlach, who serves as the Secretary-Treasurer for the Building and Construction Trades Council of Humboldt and Del Norte Counties, expressed his union’s support: “We support Natalie Arroyo for Humboldt County supervisor because we believe she will ensure that local jobs employ a local Skilled and Trained workforce, which is important to Labor but also all working people in this area.”

“I am honored and grateful to have the support of organized labor in the construction sector,” said Arroyo. “I look forward to working together with building and construction-related unions as Humboldt County grows, changes, and embraces new economic opportunities. We are anticipating significant growth in both public and private projects, and it’s so important to have well-trained workers who can complete projects efficiently and safely while supporting their families and communities.”

Arroyo is running for 4th District Supervisor, representing portions of Eureka, Myrtletown, and the Samoa Peninsula. The Primary Election is on June 7, and mail ballots arrive on May 9. Learn more about Natalie Arroyo at: www.ArroyoForSupervisor.com
