Is Fortuna Welcoming to Outsiders?

For those who don’t live there, Fortuna can seem like a tight-knit, small-town sort of culture where outsiders might have a hard time making it.

But the opening of the new Asia’s Best store just underlined that Fortuna is rich in people from underrepresented communities. Can you talk about the perception of Fortuna as a monocultural sort of place? What sort of welcome might immigrants find in Fortuna? Should attracting new people — and new kinds of people — be an important part of the city’s economic development strategy?
