Change

Roy-  Why do you feel we need a change at who represents the 3rd District?

Mike-  Why do you feel that we don’t need a change at who represents the 3rd District?

Response

Mike Wilson

I agree with the philosopher Heraclitus who said, “the only constant in life is change.”

Big changes are coming to Humboldt County in the near future — from off-shore wind and other new industries, changing relations and partnerships with Tribes, expansion of local capacity to build housing, especially affordable housing, to the development of decarbonization infrastructure and the completion of the Humboldt Bay Trail. Even bigger shifts are coming as we develop the strategies and responses needed to adapt to and prepare for Climate Change.

It is up to the voters to decide whether we need a change in who represents the 3rd District and, who they want to help manage and lead the changes and challenges ahead.

I’m running for re-election because I remain committed and energized, and feel I can continue to meaningfully contribute to changing things for the better in the community I love. My decades work expanding trails, creating protections for agriculture, fishing and forestry, as small business owner, nine years as a harbor commissioner, and seven years on the board of supervisors providing legislative experience certainly give me the background to help lead and manage upcoming challenges and changes. I am deeply familiar with the issues and have developed good working relationships with the myriad of parties working to change our community for the better.

I would appreciate your consideration and vote by March 5.
