Friday’s Sensual Lowdown: Hot Buttered Rum, Spine-Tingling Cinema and a Kinky Showdown

You’ve been understimulated all week. Thank Jahfully, this Humboldt Friday caters to all your senses:

  • Sounds and Smells: OK, so HumBrews is more likely to smell like sweat than cider, but that’s a good thing as Humboldt’s bluegrass fans will be stomping and swirling to the sounds of returning Hot Buttered Rum, some of our region’s finest pick and grinners. Sample their strings in the YouTube clip below on the left.
  • Sights and Tastes: In The Tingler (1959), Vincent Price plays a mad scientist who theorizes that a crustacean-like creature lives at the base of the human spine, growing in response to fear. And the only way to shrink it back down to size—and save your life—is to scream! Should your eyeballs be seduced by that synopsis, The Great Razooly hosts a screening of this horror “classic” at the Eureka Theater. Food! Drinks! Trailer below on the right.
  • Touch, Touch, Touch: How are Humboldt’s randy masses to choose? Somehow this month, Fetish Life Humboldt’s Fetish Night and Humboldt Pride’s Club Triangle occupy the same calendar space! Oh no! Someone had better arrange for a sexy shuttle to carry weekend kinksters back-and-forth between the Siren’s Song Tavern and Jambalaya. A dance orgy divided…
