Rick Randall asks Stacey Eads

Gary Lee Bullock

Ms. Eads,

As many people did I followed the case of Gary Bullock and Father Freed very closely.  A horrific torture and murder stays with you.  I recall very clearly that John Feeney was the Judge, Caleb Cockrum, now a judge, served as defense, and Andrew Isaac was the prosecutor.

Today I read the interview with Kym Kemp you did, published on her excellent Redheaded Blackbelt site.  One paragraph reads “Two high profiles cases Eads prosecuted were the Marci Kitchen case…  …and the Gary Bullock case.”  Thinking I’d missed something I looked back at every article on the Bullock case I could find in the Outpost, Journal, and Redheaded Blackbelt.  I saw Mr. Isaac’s name many times but never yours.

The article leaves one with the impression that you were the prosecutor.  Would you kindly explain this seeming contradiction?  Thank you for your time.

Mr. Randall,

Absolutely.  I have never stated I was trial counsel because I was not.  I did do extensive pre-trial work on the case, including but not limited to: review of the entire case file, strategizing with DDA Andrew Isaac, motion work, court appearances, and crime scene walkthrough with lead investigators.  For additional information regarding some of the cases I tried please visit: www.staceyeads4da.com.

Here’s a link, for example, that I just found:
