Shoshanna talks about all the fun, whimsical thinks families can get into at the 2nd Annual Fairy Festival on the Arcata Plaza this upcoming Sunday. It's a free event and CASA will be selling ice cream, mocktails and hosting a silent auction to raise funds to support child advocacy in our community.

Heather Schmidt is the Recreation Supervisor for the City of Arcata. She talked to us today about the Family Ceramics classes the city is now offering. Arcata residents can sign up for a 6 week class and make things with their people for $70 a family.

Peter Nelson stopped by KHUM to talk about his kid's comedy open mic. Peter mentors kids ages 5-12 (with a parent there) on Saturdays at 3p. Teens (13+) can come work up some comedy and share it with their peers at 4p on Saturdays

Kati Texas is the director of North Star Quest Camp. She talks to KHUM about the magic of spending the Summer out on the Mattole, mentoring youth and how to become a camp counselor.

Terri Castner is the Volunteer Coordinator for the Bigfoot Museum in Willow Creek. She invites us all to stop by for a visit. The museum opened for the season on May 1st and this year marks 30 years it's been in existence.

Spencer Duggan from the b52s came in to talk baseball and Easter eggs with us today. They'll be hosting an Easter egg hunt along side CASA of Humboldt this upcoming Sunday at Redwood Acres in Eureka. Bring your family to hunt eggs, play carnival games, eat food, get your face painted bounce around in the bounce house and do lots more fun things from noon until 3p this Sunday. All proceeds will support Humboldt B52s and CASA of Humboldt.

A local 7 year old Rylee held a bake sale to benefit fire victims and raised $500 dollars! She decided to donate it to the drive that Eureka Natural Foods had organized. ENF Marketing Manager Tyson Ritter and Rylee came in to chat.

On August 3rd, 8 year old Bodhi was severely injured in a car accident that took his father's life. Redwood Coast Montessori School organized a benefit for his recovery on Saturday from 5-7 PM. The 7th annual Lawnstock is this weekend! Organizer Zach Zwerdling and Marcelo Baker's Step Mother Sandra Hoff spoke to me about the event and Marcelo - who the event benefits. He suffered a major injury in a car crash where a drunk driver killed his mother.
