— The Eureka Police Department hates drives who dink with their gadgetry behind the wheel. The EPD conducted a “no-tolerance” crackdown on phone-using motorists all day today and tomorrow. First-time offenders get a $159 ticket; subsequent offenses will set you back $279 per.
— Special programming note! Tomorrow morning at 8 a.m., KSLG’s John Matthews will be speaking with the owners of the Fernbridge Cafe; one of them was arrested last week after defying health department orders to deal with the high levels of E. coli they were allegedly serving up to customers.
Matthews says that the owners have promised him an “exclusive scoop” tomorrow a.m., and also promised to bring along a protest singer who has penned a song about the situation. That’s 8 a.m. on K-SLUG tomorrow — 94.1 FM or online at kslg.com.
