This is the kind of story that leaves chillbumps on the souls of parents.  After reading Helter Skelter, it took me years to completely feel safe in my own bed.  This is the same kind of story.

On 12-13-2011, 10:15 a.m. Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 1800 block of Glendale drive in regards to a residential burglary. Upon the deputies arrival they met with the homeowner who reported unknown suspects entered her residence between 11:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. The victim had been at work and left her ten year old son at home sleeping with a neighbor watching her son. The neighbor’s residence is adjacent (about thirty feet away) from the victim’s residence. The victim returned home from work, locked her back door and went to sleep. The victim keeps the back door of her residence unlocked to allow the neighbor to enter and exit the residence to check on her child.

When she awoke, she noticed items were missing from her home including cash and a new Macbook Computer. The victim checked her residence further and saw the garage where she had medical marijuana growing had been broken into,and four pounds of marijuana bud were stolen. The victim believed the crime happened when she was at work, and her child was sleeping in the home. The suspect(s) had passed the sleeping child’s room several times and did not wake or harm the child.
