As the semi-truck negotiated a right curve in the roadway, the truck spilled its load, causing the semi-truck and trailer to overturn onto its left side.  The semi-truck and trailer came to rest blocking both northbound and southbound lanes of US-101.  The Chrysler collided into the spilled lumber causing the Chrysler to partially overturn.  The Chrysler subsequently came to rest on its side east of US-101.

Vonarx sustained minor injuries as a result of this collision. Park and Corbin were transported by ground ambulance to Jerold Phelps Hospital with minor injuries.  Two-way traffic control was maintained for approximately 3 hours while the collision scene was being investigated and the roadway was being cleared.  All occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time of this collision.  Alcohol or drugs are not believed to be a factor.

Miranda Volunteer Fire Department, Calfire, Caltrans, Humboldt County Sheriff Department, and City Ambulance of Eureka responded to the scene.  The California Highway Patrol Garberville Area office is investigating this collision.
