Charged with Conspiracy to Commit and Possession with Intent to Distribute

SAN FRANCISCO – U.S. Marshal Don O’Keefe announces the arrests of Michael Martin and Stephen Paul Bohrer, fugitives wanted by the DEA in the Middle District of Florida.
While investigating a lead today to locate fugitive Stephen Paul Bohrer on Cisco Lane, in Miranda, Calif., U.S. Deputy Marshals assisted by Humboldt County Sheriffs Deputies located and arrested a co-defendant of Bohrer named Michael Martin.
Martin had a DEA warrant for his alleged participation in a nationwide marijuana conspiracy being investigated by the DEA in the Middle District of Florida. Deputies developed additional information on the whereabouts of Bohrer and made contact with the Shasta County Marshals. The Shasta County Marshal acting on the information provided by the U.S. Marshals arrested Bohrer in Redding, Calif.
U.S. Marshals from the Middle District of Florida assisted the DEA with the fugitive portion of the case, which included approximately 30 suspects. Martin and Bohrer were the only two still at large until today.
Deputy U.S. Marshals from the Northern District of California are part of the Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force and regularly assist other federal state and local agencies in fugitive matters.
The U.S. Marshals Service has numerous task forces throughout the country. Each task force works in concert with the others to provide comprehensive coverage of the United States and abroad to assist State and local law enforcement with complex fugitive cases as well as locating and apprehending federal fugitives. Last year, U.S. Marshals task forces arrested more than 27,000 state and local fugitives on felony charges.
